This is a specific <I>Guide Book</B></I> variety listed as "Very Wide Date, Low 8." The same obverse die is also found on the B-11 AMERICAI variety. This example represents an intermediate die state out of seven different states Bowers described, and it is the latest of state of the B-10, as Die State IV is considered B-10a in Bolender's study. Cleaned and now with artificial gold and steel color on each side.
