<B>1800 S$1 VF25 NGC.</B></I> B-5, BB-189, R.5. Die State I. Die dot inside lower part of R; die dot left of second T in STATES. The obverse and reverse die flaws are present on all known examples, thus they provide immediate and positive attribution. Like so many 1800 dollars, this is a rare variety. This date provides collectors with an excellent challenge. There are 16 known varieties for the date, including two R.6 varieties, four others that are R.5, and four that are R.4. Thus, 10 out of 16 die combinations are considered scarce or rare, yet there are no impossible rarities to prevent the goal of a complete variety set.<BR> This is an early die state with perfect obverse and reverse dies. Medium gray-brown color on both sides with splashes of gunmetal-blue on the obverse.
