1800/79 S-195 R5 Style II Hair, Overdate 80 over 79 VG7+Glossy light to medium olive and steel brown. Mostly smooth with just small contact marks, nice for the grade. A thin vertical nick at the right top of the second 0 in the date and a thin nick over the first S in STATES can help identify this cent. Semi-unique TDS, Breen state V, with a bold cud break at TY to the rim before the end of the nose. Graded VG8 net G6 and tied for CC#1 with the John Wright collection example in the Noyes census, his photo #39471. The Wright coin (which we sold as lot 365 in our sale of the Daniel W. Holmes, Jr. Collection with the Goldbergs on 9/7/2009), is a couple points sharper but with more significant surface problems. That coin brought $1782.50 in the auction. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 20% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lots will be available for viewing during the Houston Money Show bourse hours January 17, 2020 and by appointment.

Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
