<B>1800 $5 MS61 NGC.</B></I> Breen-6438, BD-5, High R.3. Bass-Dannreuther State d/b. The blunt, low 1 in the date identifies the variety, along with the star touching the back of the eagle's neck and both feet of the last A in AMERICA firmly touching the claw. The reverse, while not in the terminal state e, shows several die cracks: one from the rim through the R in AMERICA into the field; one through the lower shield, the eagle's feet, and nearby leaves; one from the edge to the I in UNITED into the field; another, from the bottom of the D in UNITED to the wing. This greenish-gold piece shows considerable luster, and perhaps only a bit of light field haze precludes a finer grade.
