1800<1C> NC-3, B-16, Low R.6--Damaged--NCS. Good Details. Fair 2 EAC. Currently housed in an NCS holder incorrectly labeled as S-210. According to Bill Noyes' Condition Census book, there are 27 examples of this variety known in grades from Basal State (Poor) 1 to VF35. This example, according to Noyes, is tied with two others for bottom honors as the lowest quality known. Regardless of what you call it, Poor, Fair, or Good with damage, it is an example of a rare variety that will be of interest to all but the other 26 people who already own one. Dr. Sheldon discovered this variety in 1947, just two years before his first large cent book, Early American Cents, was published. Where they are not disfigured from various heavy dents and scrapes, the surfaces are smooth medium olive in color and attractive.
Ex: Jamie Rose (5/7/1983). Envelope Included.
