1800<$10>--Altered Surfaces--ANACS. AU55 Details. Breen-6842, BD-1, Taraszka-23, High R.3. This briefly circulated eagle has a cloudy obverse field and a glossy reverse, and the obverse has a hint of granularity when observed beneath a glass. Moderate marks are distributed, and are slightly more apparent on the lower reverse. Luster glimmers across the hair, borders, and eagle. Sharp 1800 eagles are desirable, since they are significantly more difficult to find than those from 1799 or 1803. Breen-6842 provides the only dies for this low mintage date. A die crack connects the tops of the letters in LIBERTY, and a leaf tip is affixed to the right foot of the I in AMERICA.
