18  CYLINDER MUSIC BOX WITH DRUM AND BELLS.
Originally sold by "Henry Gautschi and sons of Philadelphia". The lock is engraved "Gautschi Ste. Croix". Twelve tune music box plays on an 18" cylinder with double spring motor that has a damaged gear and governor gear train (does not play). Has 4-3/4" snare drum, 7 brass bells and a little wood block. Combs are in great condition with the exception of two missing teeth. Mechanism appears to be restored not too long ago, but the 22 note reed organ is missing. Has shut off levers for wood block, bells and drum. Case is unrestored but should be an easy restoration. Small bubbles in burl veneer on lid which has string inlay. Same book matched veneer on front and ends. Nice heavy molding around base. SIZE: 35" w X 18-1/2" d X 14" t. CONDITION: Base is missing one foot. Lid has slight warp to it. Right rear corner has split. Right front corner is slightly loose. 1-12957
