17th century Italian or Spanish type peaked Morian helmet from armor period measuring approximately 12 ¾” from top to center rim. The helmet shows all of its original brass rosettes and original holder for feather or cockade. The helmet isun-cleaned and shows an even tobacco type brown patina with just minor pitting and normal aging and absolutely no cleaning in modern times. The inside is beautifully forged and hammered and was made in two pieces. Circa 1600 to 1670. Somecollectors feel the higher crowns indicated a superior rank. Est.: $1500-$3000
