17th century European rapier possibly Saxson showing chiseled steel hilt with Lion and grotesque heads along with well-marked blade showing King with crown marking on both sides with name “Heinrich Brach” on blade and otherillegible ciphers. The sword measures 43 ½” overall with 36 ½” blade which was period shortened approximately 6”. The blade and mounts show some light to heavy pitting and losses on the edges with normal aging and wear from use. Thegrip is tightly wire wrapped and the pommel nut shows no evidence of being removed. We would date this rapier pre-1650 and although worn with some pitting it is very collectible and desirable to armour collectors Est.: $750-$1500
