17th Lancers Undress Officer's Uniform and Leather Boots with Spurs

This is a Victorian era 17th Lancers Captain's undress shell jacket c. 1860. Composed of heavy, dark blue wool with gold lace around the edges. There is white contrasting cloth on the cuffs and collar. The epaulettes are braided gold bullion with embroidered Captain's pips. The buttons on the cuffs have the skull emblem of the 17th Lancers. There are alternating metal hooks and metal loops to fasten the jacket together and there are gilt decorative beads along the edge. Lined in white silk with a natural color leather strip at the bottom. With a pair of trousers composed of dark blue wool with two white lines running down the sides and a pair of black leather boots with green leather lining and box spurs. The spurs have a goose neck and round rowels.

Condition: The shell jacket is very good with some loose stitching on the gold lace which has aged along with the gilt beads and epaulettes. The silk lining is stained. The leather is cracked with some wear and has been restitched in places. The trousers are good with some scattered small holes. The boots are good with cracking, minor wear and some flaking located at the top.
