17th Century European 2-handed broadsword, probably Germanic. Blade shows armorer’s type mark. 47-1/4” blade, 65” overall. Blade nearly 1-7/8” at widest part. Guard shows breaks and old repairs. Old leather over wood wrapped handle. Original large pommel, blade shows no evidence of being replaced and is probably original to its hilt. The metal surfaces show a dark patina and scattered light to slightly heavy pitting. The leatherwrap on grip shows some cracking and normal aging and shows a matching patina to the guard. The blade tip reduced slightly. The best looking and original two-handed sword we have seen in some time. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
