17th Century Chateau Paneling for a Library. The paneling are remnants salvaged from the world renown Chateau de Richelieu. The Chateau was an enormous 17th Century manor house built by the French Clergyman Cardinal Richelieu (1858-1642) in Touraine. It was demolished for building materials in 1805 and almost nothing of it remains today. Construction took place between 1631-1642 and employed around 2000 workers. The paneling was inherited decades ago and has been in storage. Likely to be walnut, the panels are hand carved and pegged. Some of the panels maintain the original hardware and inventory numbering.
