17th.-18th. century Moghul jade carving in shape of a mutton head. The jade is in very fine condition with some wear, at one time, it was used as a hilt. Excellent detail carving with a floral pattern on the distal part. Length: 6" (15 cm.). Very rare!. Estimated market value: $4000. Provenance: Dr. Veleanu's jade collection, the author of the illustrated collectors textbook: "Jade, 5000 BC to 1912 AD, Guide to collectors".
