<B>1799 S$1 VF25 ANACS.</B></I> B-16, BB-158, R.2. Die State III. Reiver Die State b. The berries are still visible in this marriage, but they are rather indistinct. This reverse die was used for four different varieties, two With Berries varieties before it was lapped, and two No Berries varieties after it was lapped. This reverse actually exists in five different "uses" for the four varieties. The early states of B-16 were struck first, then the reverse was lapped, followed by examples of B-23 (the 8x5 stars obverse), then more examples of B-16 with weaker berries such as this specimen. Finally, the reverse was relapped, removing all of the berries, and used for examples of B-12, and then B-11. Medium gray surfaces with splashes of darker toning and lighter color on the devices. Scattered surface marks are noticed on each side.
