<B>1799/8 S$1 15 Stars Reverse--Environmental Damage--NCS. Unc. Details.</B></I> B-3, BB-141, R.3. An uncommonly sharp example of this famous <I>Guide Book</B></I> variety. The engraver incorrectly placed 15 stars on the reverse, and tried to cover up his mistake by expanding two of the reverse clouds to cover two stars. Only a trace of friction is present on the portrait, but both sides are consistently micro-granular.
