<B>1799/8 $1 15 Stars Reverse AU55 PCGS.</B></I> B-3, BB-141, R.3. Bowers-Borckardt Die State III. BB-141 is the 1799/8 variety with the famous blundered 15 Stars reverse. The engraver realized his mistake, and tried to conceal two of the stars by greatly enlarging the outer clouds, but tell-tale points of the errant stars remain. Deep dove-gray, cobalt-blue, and emerald-green toning consumes this sharply defined and satiny Bust dollar. A loupe reveals a few thin obverse marks. Desirable in such quality.
