1799 $10 Small Stars Obverse MS62 PCGS. Irregular Date, Breen-6840, BD-7, Taraszka-19, R.3. Incorrectly designated by PCGS as a Large Stars Obverse variety. BD-7 is most interesting for its diminished clouds, which were inadvertently reduced in scale by a mint worker, either to remove clash marks or simply to prepare the die for coinage. This luminous example has mildly prooflike luster, and a hint of orange toning on the fields. No adjustment marks are present, and the strike is unusually sharp for this large denomination. Careful evaluation beneath a loupe fails to locate any consequential marks. Early eagles are under formidable demand from gold type set collectors.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
