The obverse has small die chips in the upper right field, called "tears" in Bowers' <I>Silver Dollar Encyclopedia. </B></I>The late die state with a thin die crack joining the tops of AME. Deep blue-gray toning is accompanied by traces of gold. A delightful example with smooth surfaces and excellent eye appeal.
