1798 S-158 R4 Style I Hair with Small 8 VF25. Sharpness near EF40 but there is a patch of very fine reddish chocolate corrosion in the field left of the lowest curls and a few faint hairline scratches in the field behind the head plus one more under the O in ONE. The remainder of the surfaces are smooth with only trivial contact marks. Glossy chocolate brown, the obverse displaying more gloss than the reverse. MDS, Breen state IV. There are faint vertical die cracks in the field behind the portrait. Called VF35 net VF20 and tied for CC#16 in the Noyes census, his photo #21812. Removed from an ICG slab graded EF45 details scratched (ICG label included, and it shows the attribution). Comes with a nice provenance.
