Smooth and attractive but there are a few nicks on both sides including one on the neck, another on the shoulder, a dull rim nick at the second S in STATES, and a small rim nick under the right end of the fraction. None of these marks is significant but there are more than you want to see at this level of sharpness. Glossy light olive and chocolate. EDS, Breen state I. The reverse is uncracked. Called VG10 and tied for CC#10 in the Bland census. Noyes says F15 net VG10 (although previously he called it net F12) and tied for CC#6, his photo #23013. Our grade is net VG10+, very close to F12. This is one of only a very few of the variety seen with smooth surfaces. And it comes with an impressive provenance. (The slab is scuffed and scratched.) 1431.20/32206063 Ex Dr. William H.
