<B>1798 S$1 Large Eagle, Wide Date VF35 ICG.</B></I> B-20, BB-102, R.5. Die State II. Reiver Die State c. Pointed 9, Arc Star Pattern. Die chip over left side of 9; star 12 points to I. This variety always has the reverse die crack from the ribbon to the I of AMERICA that appeared only on late die states of the 1798 B-7. A thin rim break is evident at the bottom of the reverse. Few early silver dollars are known with rim breaks or cuds. In fact, just two instances have been identified on the early silver dollars. The obverse has intermingled olive, golden-brown, and steel toning while the reverse has lighter olive color and splashes of steel toning. A few minor abrasions are expected.
