<B>1798 S$1 Large Eagle, Wide Date VF35 ICG.</B></I> B-15, BB-112, R.3. Die State II. Reiver Die State b. Pointed 9, Arc Star Pattern. Spiked head (just behind curl point); star 12 points to center of B. This later die state example has thin stars from a lapped obverse die, and it is the usual die state for the variety. Earlier states are considerably rarer. Although it is a common variety, most examples of B-15 are well worn. This example has a rotated reverse die, about 30 degrees counterclockwise. Light silver-gray surfaces with some hazy toning on each side, suggesting that this example has probably been cleaned.
