<B>1798 S$1 Large Eagle, Wide Date VF25 NGC.</B></I> B-14, BB-122, R.3. Die State V. Reiver Die State b. Pointed 9, Line Star Pattern. Highest hair curl below upright of E; claw touches final A. Some references suggest that star 12 on the reverse touches the upper beak. However, this example shows clear separation between these features. This is an intermediate die state with the vertical obverse break clearly visible but not fully developed. Deeply toned surfaces with a blend of grayish-gold and gunmetal-blue. Both sides have lighter ivory color close to the devices.
