<B>1798 S$1 Large Eagle, Close Date VF35 PCGS.</B></I> B-30, BB-116, R.5. Die State IV. Reiver Die State b, early. Pointed 9, Arc Star Pattern. Digit 8 out of position, high and leaning slightly right; all stars distant from the clouds. Most examples of this rare variety grade VF or XF, much like this specimen. An intermediate die state with a reverse crack from the top of T to the center of E, the lower part of D, the eagle's left wing, and the first two clouds. Another crack joins the tops of D and ST to the tips of the top two feathers in the left wing. Other minor reverse die cracks are also evident.
