<B>1798 S$1 Large Eagle, Close Date VF30 ANACS.</B></I> B-29, BB-119, R.4. Die State II. Reiver Die State a. Pointed 9, Line Star Pattern. Digit 8 out of position, high and leaning slightly right; star 12 joins lower scroll. This variety represents the final use of the obverse die. The reverse die crack is faint on this example, but it is present. By the time the B-29 dollars were struck, the obverse had reached the point that it was nearly unserviceable, and was finally retired. The fields have medium gray color with hints of gold toning, framing lighter gray devices. A pleasing example. There are no imperfections other than the usual light handling marks acquired through years in circulation. A tiny obverse rim scrape is evident at 2 o'clock.
