<B>1798 S$1 Large Eagle, Close Date VF25 PCGS.</B></I> B-25, BB-123, R.4. Die State IV. Reiver Die State c. Pointed 9, Line Star Pattern. Whisker variety with a tiny point down from the lower edge of the chin; stars 3 and 4 overlap clouds. Lightly cleaned with light silver surfaces and faint hairlines. Adjustment marks are visible across clouds 6 and 7, into the stars and the eagle's head. This is an exception to the rule that Bill Luebke's coins are usually free of adjustment marks, yet this example is still quite attractive. This is the latest die state recorded by Bowers, with radial and peripheral obverse die cracks and a heavy chip or crack from the stem end toward the border on the reverse.
