<B>1798 S$1 Large Eagle, 10 Arrows XF40 NGC.</B></I> B-13, BB-108, R.3. Die State IV. Pointed 9, Arc Star Pattern. Die chip between drapery and star 13; reverse star 12 points left of B in PLURIBUS. This is a common variety of the 10 Arrows type, given a separate listing in the <I>Guide Book.</B></I> This is the latest described die state, struck after 1798 B-10 (BB-109) in an interrupted die marriage. Possible as many as 500 examples of the B-13 variety exist, including 150 to 200 examples of this final die state. This is an attractive example with light gray color at the center of the obverse, surrounded by deeper gold and iridescent toning.
