<B>1798 $1 Large Eagle AU55 PCGS.</B></I> B-27, BB-113, R.2. Intermediary between Die State I and II. Housed in an old green-label holder, this Choice AU piece is similar in overall appearance to the Mint State Norweb Collection coin that is plated in David Bowers' <I>Silver Dollar Encyclopedia</B></I>. It is an earlier die state than the Norweb coin, with no obverse or reverse die cracks. The upper hair curls show evidence of die lapping. Otherwise it would qualify as Die State I that Bowers said may not exist. A trace of highpoint wear can be seen on the obverse.
