<B>1798 $1 Large Eagle, Wide Date AU55 NGC.</B></I> B-22, BB-104, R.4. A nicely detailed, sufficiently lustrous, high grade example of this scarce variety. The open collar was not perfectly aligned with the dies, resulting in a slightly off center strike. This lovely example displays an attractive rose patina throughout, with occasional patches of blue-green toning present. Dave Bowers (1993) considered this variety to be "very rare" above the XF level and possibly "unknown in Mint State."
