Glossy dark steel brown and chocolate. Smooth surfaces with outstanding eye appeal for the grade. The only marks are a shallow planchet flake at ER in LIBERTY and a couple very faint hairline scratches hidden in the obverse indent. Double struck. The initial strike was properly centered but the planchet was not removed completely after striking and things got rather jammed up in the press. The reverse shows a strong second strike 20% off center to K-6. The obverse has an off center indent from the reverse of another struck cent leaving a distorted incuse impression of UNITED, although only the ED shows clearly. This is an impressive multiple-error cent. Early die state. The EAC grade is consistent with the slab grade, and the multiple errors are noted on the PCGS label.
