1797 1C Reverse of 1797, Stems MS64 Brown PCGS. S-135, B-5, R.3. Another variety from the famed Nichols Find, the Sheldon-135 is distinguished from the similar Sheldon-123 by a broken B in LIBERTY, and the R almost touching the hair. The corner of the last 7 in the date touches the drapery. On the reverse the denominator is wide and evenly spaced. There are six berries on each branch. This example offers smooth, glossy surfaces on a smooth, high quality Boulton planchet, with a few light, grade-consistent ticks. Tinges of mint red greet the viewer on each side, more so on the obverse. From Breen's Die State III, the piece shows a spine from the leaf below R(I), and die chips above C(A). Well struck and pleasing.
