<B>1797 $1 10x6 Stars, Large Letters XF45 NGC.</B></I> B-3, BB-71, R.2. The is the only variety of the three known for the 1797 date that has 10 stars before LIBERTY and six after. Die State III, obverse and reverse die relapped. On obverse, highest wave of hair is incomplete, and stars 9 and 10 have the innermost points shortened; on the reverse, the right edges of some of the palm leaves are removed. Medium gray patination is joined by whispers of cobalt-blue, lavender, and gold at the peripheries. The design elements exhibit sharp detail, and are well centered on the planchet. A few light adjustment marks are noted in the lower left reverse quadrant, as are some small reverse rim bruises.
