1796 TOKEN Myddelton Token, Silver PR64 PCGS. Breen-1073. Beautiful autumn-brown and forest-green toning drapes this needle-sharp and moderately mirrored specimen, which ranks among the finest certified. Thorough evaluation with the aid of a strong lens locates a few wispy field marks, but these are inconsequential relative to the exemplary eye appeal. English citizen Philip Parry Price Myddelton planned a community on his Kentucky estate, and solicited Boulton & Watt to strike silver and copper patterns. Myddelton's plans were interrupted by English authorities, who imprisoned him under the charge of "enticing artificers to emigrate to the United States," per Breen. Listed on page 73 of the 2007 Guide Book. Population: 3 in 64, 1 finer (10/06).
From The Troy Wiseman Collection, Part Two.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
