Very attractive glossy light chocolate brown with frosty lighter brown in protected areas. Smooth except for some tiny planchet chips in the center of the reverse and a thin fissure through the E in CENT, all as struck. The only notable sign of contact is a small rim bruise at the top of the cap. MDS, Breen state II early, with a very fine die crack arcing from the right top of the Y onto the nose before the eye. The reverse die has not been lapped and the repunching on the first 0 in the denominator is clear. Breen apparently did not know the crack occurred first. The date is bold and the legends are strong except for the usual weakness on CENT and the ribbon bows. The reverse is rotated 50 degrees CCW relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Our grade is VF25. 1401.35/12504327 Ex Sonny Henry Auctions 10/17/2009:209
