The obverse is slightly better while the reverse is a bit weaker (which is typical for Draped Bust 1796 cents), the AG3+ grade an average of the two. Glossy steel brown and chocolate. No roughness or verdigris, only minor contact marks consistent with the grade including a collection of tiny ticks under the hair ribbon and more left of the O in ONE. The bottom edge of the date is starting to wear in to the rim but it is easily readable and nearly complete. EDS. A decent low-grade example of this tough die variety. Ex Joe V. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 15% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.
7. Lot viewing due to COVID-19 not available for this auction.
8. Mail bids, or phone bids will be accepted up through the day of the sale. Please direct email bids to kevin@indeetlib.com. All bids will be reduced. Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
