Date: 1796Sharpness F12 or slightly better but covered with fine roughness, strongest in the fields and protected areas. There are a few shallow pits off the ends of the hair ribbon, another at the top of the M, and a planchet flake at the top of the O in ONE. No verdigris and minor contact marks. Light olive and steel brown. Rare terminal die state, Breen IV, with strong rim cuds at TY and left of the L in LIBERTY. The date and legends are complete and easily readable. Far from perfect but better than the Breen plate coin for the die state. Noyes graded VG8 net G5, his photo #28215.Ex James R. McGuigan 4/1979-John D. AUCTION TERMS OF SALE
1. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the buyer. In case of dispute the auctioneer may at his sole discretion reopen a lot. In all cases the auctioneer’s decision shall be final and binding on bidders.
2. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse to honor any bid which, at his sole discretion, he feels is not submitted in good faith. The auctioneer may withdraw any lot, without prior notice, for any reason whatsoever.
3. All sales are payable in U. S. funds immediately upon receipt of invoice unless other arrangements have been made prior to the sale. Lots will not be released to buyers until paid for in full. Lots delivered in state of sale are subject to all applicable state and local taxes unless appropriate permits are on file with us.
4. Postage will be added to the invoice of all successful mail bidders.
5. A 15% buyer’s fee will be added to all invoices.
6. Please keep in mind this is not an approval sale. All sales are considered final. Sales to the floor may not be returned for any reason save authenticity. Sales to mail bidders are final unless lot proves to have been mis-described.

8. Mail bids, or phone bids will be accepted up through the day of the sale. Please direct email bids to kevin@indeetlib.com. All bids will be reduced. Lots will open at one increment above second highest mail/phone bidder.
