<B>1796<H10C> MS62 PCGS.</B></I> V-1, LM-1, R.3. Although noted as a LIKERTY variant on the insert, the coin actually shows complete definition on the top and bottom of the B in LIBERTY. The Logan-McCloskey reference notes that Valentine-1 is "a scarce die marriage that is usually seen well worn." This crisply struck and satiny Mint State example is certainly an exception to that rule. Bathed in dramatic sea-green and ruby-red colors, the surfaces display only a few wispy pinscratches, and a small planchet flaw near star 13 is of mint origin. The Draped Bust, Small Eagle Half Dime was only struck in 1796 and 1797, a situation similar to its rare Half Dollar counterpart.
