1796 25C AG3 PCGS. High 6. B-2, R.3. The date and the lower half of the obverse are clear but worn, and with a little imagination one can make out the stars around the periphery. The Draped Bust motif is clear, and even LIBERTY is present but faint. About two-thirds of the obverse dentilation is present. The reverse is more problematic from a wear standpoint. Only the central eagle, about one-third of the wreath, and CA are readily visible. The reverse is a deep silver color while the obverse is coppery in color. Not the prettiest example, but an affordable one of this first-year issue, and a one-year type coin with the small eagle reverse and no denomination. No more quarters were coined until 1804, when they used the Heraldic Eagle and the 25 C denomination.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
