<B>1796 10C --Altered Surfaces--ANACS. XF45 Details.</B></I> JR-3, R.5. The second rarest 1796 variety, according to the JR reference, identifiable by the location of the outer berries on the reverse, which was used only for this die marriage. Darkly toned, almost burnt in appearance, but lightly worn with peripheral strike weakness visible at roughly 1 o'clock to 3 o'clock on the obverse and in the corresponding location on the reverse.
