<B>1796 $1 Small Date, Small Letters XF45 NGC.</B></I> B-1, BB-66, R.4. Six die varieties of the 1796 silver dollars are known, with B-1 and three others generally available without undue difficulty. The other two (B-3 and B-6) are both extremely rare with only two or three pieces known. The obverse and reverse surfaces of this attractive dollar have pale lilac and blue toning with lighter reddish-tan color on the devices. The die state is early with no evidence of lapping, cracks, or other die characteristics.
