<B>1795 S$1 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves VF35 NGC.</B></I> B-13, BB-24, High R.5. E punched over erroneous R; double tail berry, outer berry at left base of I in AMERICA. Die State I, perfect dies as always. Pleasing lilac-gray surfaces with evidence of steel-blue toning. Light adjustment marks are evident at the center of the obverse and around portions of the reverse periphery. This variety remains rare today, although it was considered an extremely rare variety by Bolender, who only knew of three examples. Decades earlier, Haseltine considered this die marriage unique. Even today, only about 30 to 40 examples are known, and this variety is marginally rarer than the B-3 and B-12 die combinations. A single Mint State example of this variety is known, along with one or two AU pieces.
