1795 H10C MS63 PCGS. V-4, LM-10, R.3. A relatively plentiful die marriage of the 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime, the Eliasberg Collection included an MS65 representative. A late die state, the obverse has developed a cud (as struck) on the rim outside the TY in LIBERTY and star 9. This is a satiny example with modest glowing tendencies in the fields and dominant slate-gray color. Striking softness is seen over the left obverse periphery and the eagle's left (facing) wing on the reverse, but we note that the plate coin in the 1998 book Federal Half Dimes: 1792-1837 (Logan and McCloskey) also displays the latter feature. Most of Liberty's hair curls are razor sharp in detail, and neither side reveals many abrasions. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
