1795 H10C MS61 NGC. V-2, LM-3, R.5. The last year of the Flowing Hair half dime, which would be superseded the following year by the Draped Bust type. Ten varieties are identified for this year from the mintage recorded as 86,416 pieces, which includes the 1794-dated half dimes. Judging by the certified population data, the 1794 is about three times as rare as 1795-dated pieces. The rare LM-3 variety is identified by the prominent die crack that travels from the rim above the R in LIBERTY through most of Liberty's hair. This example shows deep charcoal-gray toning on each side with silver centers. The strike is bold, but the planchet was struck was struck from slightly misaligned dies with the obverse a bit weak at 9 o'clock on each side. A good opportunity for the specialist.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
