<B>1795 50C 2 Leaves XF40 PCGS.</B></I> O-125, R.4. This is the second use of the O-14 obverse, this die pairing is characterized by the leaf below the N in UNITED recut. <BR> Both sides have faint clash marks but no evidence of die cracks or other die state indicators.<BR> Mostly medium gray surfaces are highlighted by attractive light gold toning on both sides. Evidence of original luster remains in the protected areas of the design on each side. The surfaces are lightly abraded, although some of the tiny imperfections seem to be remnants of the original planchet surface prior to striking. Noticeable weakness through the date and the first few stars on the left result from heavy adjustment marks along part of the reverse border. <BR> A surprising number of high grade examples are known of this variety. Stephen Herrman's list of auction appearances includes 10 separate coins from MS64 to AU50.
