1795<50C> 2 Leaves. O-120, Low R.7--Scratched--NCS. Fine Details. A very rare die marriage, listed as R.5 in the Overton reference but now regarded as a stopper to a set of 1795 varieties. The vertical die crack through the 7 in the date is mentioned by Overton. The deep olive-gray fields are lighter near the eagle. The major devices have light lavender-gray color. Ample hair and plumage details persist. A vertical pinscratch through the neck curls and a diagonal scratch near the eagle's beak confirm the NCS notation, other light to moderate abrasions are also present. Other than the minor imperfections, this example is quite similar to the Overton plate example. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly where this coin fits in the Census, but with less than a dozen known examples, its position in the Census is almost moot.
Ex: Lloyd (3/15/1972). Envelope Included.
