<B>1795 50C 2 Leaves--Reverse Scratched, Improperly Cleaned--NCS. Unc Details.</B></I> O-125, R.4. The rarity rating of this variety indicates that it is one of the common 1795 half dollar die marriages. The Condition Census presented in the fourth edition of the Overton reference suggests that higher grade pieces are elusive, with the best piece recorded as just XF40. However, a few Mint State and AU grade coins are listed by Stephen Herrman in his auction records for the series. This piece has full satin luster with blue-gray and pale gold toning. The reverse scratch discussed by NCS is nothing more than a short scrape below the left wing.
