1795<50C> 2 Leaves MS64 NGC. O-105, High R.3. This example is an intermediate die state with the obverse of O-105 and the reverse of O-105a. There is no evidence of obverse die cracks, yet all of the reverse cracks described in Overton are fully visible as well as additional cracks not described by Overton. The reverse is finely cracked from the left wing tip to the upper right serif of the I and on to the border. Only the slightest clash marks can be seen on the obverse, primarily in the lower left field. The obverse die has star 1 solidly joined to the lowest hair curl, which continues to completely close the loop. The reverse has M of AMERICA widely recut to the right, with the original impression left of the final position.
Both sides of this example are sharply detailed and almost fully struck. The impression is nicely centered with full obverse and reverse borders. Every star along the left obverse border is sharply detailed, while those on the right are a trifle weak. Liberty has a full profile and the hair strands are finely detailed, including the individual fine hairs that comprise each of the strands. Only those details at the top of the head are weakly impressed. The reverse is similarly bold with every individual leaf finely detailed. The eagle has mostly bold design elements, including most of the individual feathers. The claws and head are each a bit weakly defined.
The surfaces are fully lustrous with a satiny sheen beneath original steel-blue, lilac, and sea-green color. The surfaces are exceptional in quality with nothing more than a few faint hairlines, and a set of three tiny ticks below the L of LIBERTY. This latter feature is an excellent pedigree marker.
Ex: Richard Jewell Collection (American Numismatic Rarities, 3/2005), lot 1738.

Important notice
