1795 50C 2 Leaves Fine 12 PCGS. O-121a, R.5. The diagnostic heavy crack travels from the rim roughly midway between the 9 and 5 of the date to the bust. While Overton (third edition) writes that this crack extends: " ... about halfway across the neck," it is not evident on this VG10 example. No other cracks are apparent on either side.
Light gray patination assumes a slightly deeper hue in some of the recesses. Well-centered design features exhibit a good amount of detail for the grade, though some minor weakness is noted along the right borders of both obverse and reverse. Close scrutiny with a loupe reveals no mentionable contact marks, though we note some light adjustment marks at the lower and right obverse border.
Haseltine-18; Beistle 18a-P; Overton-47; Hilt 11-E; PCGS# 6052; Encyclopedia-4554.
Ex: Michael Summers (2/2004).
From The Westmoreland County Collection of Early Bust Halves, 1794-1807.

Coin Engraver: Robert Scot

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
