PCGS graded AU-55.</B> Frosty light steel brown with reddish chocolate brown toning in protected areas and a faint overtone of iridescent rose and light bluish steel on both sides. Sharply struck and the only marks are some of the usual tiny planchet chips scattered over both sides. The notable planchet marks are at IT in UNITED and a thin one through the left foot of the first A in AMERICA, as struck. MDS, Breen state III. This is the plate coin for the variety in Early American Cents, Penny Whimsy, and the Breen book on large cents. Called MS60 and CC#2 in the Breen/Bland census. This cent was once included on the list of pieces removed from the Clapp-ANS collection, but it was subsequently removed from that list &#40;see the Winter 1999 ANS Newsletter, page 12, showing this S-61 is no longer in dispute&#41;. <BR>Estimated Value &#36;8,500 - 12,500. <I><BR>Ex Charles E.
