Sharpness very close to mint state with just a hint of rub on the highpoints, but there are numerous tiny planchet fissures on the obverse, mostly on the upper right half. There is no trace of "Environmental Damage." The reverse is nearly flawless showing only a few microscopic planchet flakes near the fraction. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate. No verdigris and the only contact mark I can find is a faint hairline hidden between the pole and bust. Rare EDS, Breen state I, before the die defect over ICA. Graded MS60 with planchet defects on the obverse in the Breen/Bland census. Difficult to grade because the planchet flaws are so obvious. Our grade is AU55 sharpness net EF40. Previously housed in an ANACS holder graded UNC Details Net AU50 on Defective Planchet (ANACS label #2411751 included). 901374.97/48226513 Ex A. L.
